In the most difficult of times, we find our true strength. The ability to push beyond our limits to achieve goals and win against all odds. We must be positive, remaining ever faithful through a hope that can only come through belief in something bigger than us-- belief that we are not in control. Our very own Stephanie and her amazing mother Laurie can truly attest to these facts, as their family faced a challenge bigger than they could have ever imagined just a few short months ago, last December. We are truly thankful that Laurie is a fighter, and that the endless support of a community full of faith kept her from giving in when things became tougher than she could handle. To all of our friends and supporters-- we want to thank you, and to the Regional Medical Center of Memphis, aka the MED-- we want to give back to you.

This Thursday, May 17th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Bella Vita will host an art show with a portion of proceeds going to the MED. The exhibit will feature works from familiar area artists such as EMYO and Sarah Robertson, as well as new Bella Vita artists Cecel Allee and Sonya Edwards. "I know I will continue to give back to the MED," Stephanie said. "I would love to help other families who find themselves where we were last December." Stephanie recalls the tremendous support that this local hospital provided to her and her family during Laurie's recovery, and she believes that while she may never be able to truly thank them for all they did for her family, this is surely a start.

Don't you just love the growth that comes at this time of year? The growth of gorgeous flowers and the leaves making their appearance after a long winter's escape. In the spirit of all things new and beautiful, we are excited to continue the joy of wedding season by introducing you to another precious couple. Candace and Michael fell in love during their college days at University of Memphis, and now they are so excited to watch their growing love bloom into marriage.

"When you know, you know," said the bride of the connection that she and Michael shared right off the bat. They spent two wonderful years together making memories before Candace's prince charming popped the question after a romantic dinner at their favorite steakhouse. He even filled the backyard with tulips and wedding cupcakes--talk about charming! This sweet couple can't wait to make their vows public in just a few more weeks. The ceremony will be held at First Evangelical Church with a reception to follow at Memphis Waterworks.

A girl after our own heart, Candace shares our appreciation for design, style and rustic elegance. We just know these two will have the most beautiful wedding, and we're thankful to get to share in part of their special celebration. Congrats, you two!

CD: Our wedding is very DIY. I love decorating and designing, so when it came to my wedding, I knew I wanted every detail to be unique and reflect us as a couple.

CD: The colors I have chosen are pale pink and sea foam with a few touches of gold and rustic elements like burlap.

BV: What are your honeymoon plans?

CD: We are excited to escape to Jamaica for our honeymoon, where we will enjoy a week relaxing in the sun at an all inclusive resort.

BV: What are your plans after your return from the honeymoon?

CD: Though jobs may take us away or keep us apart for a short stint, we hope to settle down in Memphis in the near future after the wedding.

Maybe I've mentioned it before, but I am dying to do an Allison Rodgers beach session.
